||<tablewidth=100%><tablebordercolor=transparent><tablebgcolor=transparent>문경 대하리 소나무는 장수황씨 사정공파 종중 소유로 나이 400여 년으로 추정되며 줄기와 가지가 용트림 형상으로 구부러져 옆으로 뻗어 우산 2개를 받쳐놓은 듯한 모양을 하고 있어 매우 특이하며 아름답다. 과거 방촌 황희 선생의 영정을 모신 장수 황씨의 종택(경상북도 민속문화유산) 사당과 사원이 이 나무 주변에 있어 마을 이름을 영각동이라 부르고 매년 음력 정월대보름에 마을주민들이 모여 "영각동제"라는 당산제를 지냈다고 한다.
문경 대하리 소나무는 2개의 우산을 맞대어 놓은 듯한 수형이 특이하고 손상이 거의 없어 관상적인 가치가 크며 영각동제를 지내는 상징목으로서 학술적·문화적 가치가 커 천연기념물로 지정·보호하고 있다.
