1. 개요
1969년에 발매된 비틀즈 정규 10집 Yellow Submarine의 5번 트랙.2. 상세
조지 해리슨의 숨은 명곡 중 하나. 사이키델릭 록 & 하드 록 색채의 노래다. 조지는 이 곡에 대해 사이키델릭에 관한 록 곡을 쓰고 싶었다고 하며, LSD를 경험하는 동안, 그리고 후에 명상 중에 확인된 깨달음을 어린아이의 마음으로 썼다고 한다.곡에서 트럼펫 연주가 돋보이는데 연주자들은 예레미아 클라크의 '덴마크 왕자 행진곡'을 모티브로 연주했다고 한다. 폴과 존이 조금 가사를 도와주었다고 하며, 5월 말에 녹음되어 원래는 Magical Mystery Tour에 수록될 예정이었으나 다른 멤버들의 반대로 인해 Yellow Submarine에 실리게 되었다.
본래는 한 개 절이 더 있어 8분이 넘는 곡이었지만 편집되어 6분 26초 분량으로 줄어들었다. 코다 부분에 잠시 덴마크 왕자의 행진곡의 상징적인 멜로디를 차용하였다.
훗날 오아시스가 이 노래의 제목과 가사를 'Roll With It'에 인용한다. 이처럼 조지 해리슨이 비틀즈 시절 작곡한 곡들 중 상당수가 다른 멤버들의 반대로 비틀즈 앨범에 실리지 못했는데, 이러한 곡들은 조지 해리슨의 첫 솔로 앨범인 All Things Must Pass에 대거 수록된다.
