경상북도 칠곡군의 면.

구미시 신동, 장천면, 대구광역시 군위군 효령면과 접한다. 심곡리는 아예 구미시 장천면 상장리 바로 앞에 있다.

2. 상세

팔공산도립공원, 다부동 전적지로 유명하다.

다부리에는 대구예술대학교가 있으며, 가산2리는 예전에 칠곡군에서 최고의 오지에 속했던 곳이다. 지금은 팔공산터널 개통으로 인해 접근성이 많이 개선된 상태.[3] 가산리, 응추리, 용수리에서 가산면의 다른 지역으로 가려면 2017년 10월 19일 전까지는 군위군을 거쳐가야 했지만 금화리로 연결되는 모래재도로가 개통되면서 더 이상 월경지가 아니게 되었다! 하지만 이는 자가용 한정인데, 해당 지역에 운행하는 유일한 노선인 경일교통 300번은 여전히 군위군을 거쳐가기 때문이다.

하지만 모래재도로는 급커브에 헤어핀이 많고 왕복 1차로 인지라 운전하기 꽤나 험해서 아직도 해당 지역 주민들은 대부분 군위군을 거쳐서 가는 편이므로 사실상 실질월경지라고 보면 될 듯.

2023년 7월 1일 군위군이 대구광역시에 편입되면서 가산리, 용수리, 응추리는 실질월경지 속 실질월경지가 될 예정이다(...)

최근 들어 대구광역시 또는 칠곡군 동명면에서 많은 공장들이 이전해서 오고 있으며, 교촌치킨의 등기상 주소지가 천평리로 되어 있다.[4] ~~또한 스모프치킨의 본사도 금화리에 있다~~.[5] 이러한 이유로 인해서 적은 인구 치고는 칠곡군에서 꽤 비중 있는 지역이다.
