리드머 평점: 3.5점으로 호평을 받았다.
비프리의 프로듀싱 능력이 상당히 뛰어나다는 걸 알 수 있다. 팔로알토가 비프리처럼 스웨이디를 프로듀싱했으나 서로 너무 힘들어 음악에 터치 안 하기로 한 걸 생각해보면... 게다가 스웨이디는 이후로도 이때만큼의 평가를 받지 못하고 있다. 스웨이디가 하이라이트와 계약이 끝나자 비프리랑 그린클럽 2를 만들라고 네티즌들이 농담 반 진담 반으로 말하기도 했다. 시간이 지나면서 스웨이디가 자신을 증명하지 못하자 이 앨범이 뛰어난 건 비프리의 프로듀싱 덕분이라는 게 증명되었다. 비프리 말처럼 7:3으로 나누는 게 합당하다는 평가까지 나올 정도다.
2016년 5월 초, 하이라이트 레코즈를 나오고 나서 스웨이디와 공연할 때와 힙플인터뷰에서 '그린클럽 2'를 외치고 다니거나 그린클럽 2 앨범을 발매할 예정이라고 말했으나 팔로알토와의 불화로 나오지 않게 된 것으로 보인다. 2017년 1월 31일, 그린클럽 조합인 DJ MAD곡인 '출동 (Let's Get Started) (Feat. B-Free, Sway D)'에서 서로의 합을 보여주었으며, 그 이후로의 그린클럽이 합작한 모습은 볼 수 없다.
Mind Cooler에 피처링한 Ethereal은 이 앨범 참여 이후 Playboi Carti등 여러 유명 래퍼들과 작업을 이어나갔다. 2023년에는 RIAA 골드 인증을 받기도 했다.

| 힙플: [그린 클럽(Green Club)]이 결성 된다는 소식을 접했다. 스웨이디(S\'WAY.D)와의 인연이 궁금하다. B Free (비프리. 이하 B): 3-4년 전 부터 부산에 공연하러 갈 때, 항상 놀러오는 친구였고 부산에 어딜가든 항상 따라다니고 같이 놀다 보니 친해 진 것 같다. 정확히 어떻게는 기억이 잘... 힙플: 코리안 드림 때 부터 작업을 이어왔는데, 올 해가 되어서 프로젝트 팀을 결성하게 된 계기는? B: 몇 달 전 부터 스웨이디가 서울을 자주 올라오기 시작했는데, 서울에서 만날 때마다 작업실 가서 같이 작업을 하게 되었다. 하다 보니 작업물이 꽤 되었는데 개인 앨범과는 색깔이 안 맞는 것들도 있어서 가볍게 그냥 내보자 하게 됐다. 힙플: 그럼, KAWASAKI 는 인트로 성격을 띈 곡인데, 이러한 성격을 띄었기에 싱글로 던진 것인가? B: (웃음) 아니다. 원래 카와사키는 셋이 심심해서 같이 뭐 작업해볼까 해서 만들었는데 꽤 마음에 들어서 무료로 공개 한 거다. 반응이 좋아서 뮤직비디오 촬영했다. 곧 정식 발매 할 계획이다. 힙플: 로꼬가 쇼미더머니에 입고 나온, S\'WAY.D 도 월드디제이페스티벌에 입고 나온 KAWASAKI 티셔츠는 그린 클럽이 제작한 건가? B: 카와사키가 공개되고 얼마 안 되어서 갑자기 make-1 형에게 연락이 왔는데, 축구 저지에 카와사키를 찍으면 어떻겠냐 라고 해서 ‘오 좋죠’ 했는데, 진짜 저지를 구해서 직접 찍어주셨다. 힙플: 그린 클럽은 어떤 활동 방향을 갖고 있는가? 일단 앨범 혹은 싱글을 발매 할 테지만. B: 그린클럽의 목표는 우선 대한민국에서 가장 열심히 하는 프로듀서 크루가 이 되는 것이며, 재능 있는 프로듀서들, 그리고 나나 스웨이디 같은 프로듀서 겸 랩퍼들과 함께 하고 싶다. 실력도 중요하지만 우선 개그코드나 취향이 맞아야 한다.(웃음) 비프리(B Free), '그린클럽 프로젝트'와 '모두가 내 발 아래'에 대해 | 코멘터리 힙플: 최근에 퓨쳐리스틱 스웨버 샤라웃도 그렇고, 꾸준히 신예들에게 관심을 갖고 있는 뮤지션인 것 같다. 단순히 자극받기 위함으로 많이 디깅하는 편인가? B: 맞다. 새로운, 신선한 아티스트들을 안 듣는 것은 음악에 관심이 없다는 것과 같다고 생각한다. 힙플: 뜬금없지만, \'모두가 내 발 아래\'가 나왔을 때, 별 다른 반응을 보이지 않았다. 특별한 이유가 있는가? B: 그냥 내 생각에 \"당연히 구리겠지\" 라고 생각하고 안 듣고 있었다. 그렇게 좀 시간이 지나서, 어느 날 영화관에 갔을 때, 어떤 노래가 나오는데 좋더라고. ‘이 비트 대박이네’ 라는 생각에 혼자 춤추고 있었는데 옆에 같이 있던 친구가 \"이거 너 디스곡 이잖아\" 그러더라. 그 곡이 \'모두가 내 발 아래\'였다.(웃음) 그래서 한참 웃었지. 어쨌든 \"오...이 비트 꽤 멋있는데?\" 라는 생각을 했었다. 힙플: 마지막으로 하고 싶은 이야기가 있다면 부탁한다. B: 그린클럽 앨범 기대 부탁한다. 아주 신선하고 재밌을 거다. |

Sway D: 서울에 올라갔을 때 프리형이 새로 만든 곡이 있다며 들려줬다 . 그 곡이 바로 ‘Studio’ 였는데 훅이 비어있다고 해서 그 자리에서 훅이 떠올라 그날 녹음실에 가서 형이랑 ‘Studio’ 훅을 완성했다. 그리고 나서 아쉬운 마음에 한 곡 더 작업한 곡이 브라이언과 함께한 ‘Kawasaki’ 이다. 작업을 함께 이어가던 중 팀을 만들자는 이야기가 나왔고, 나 역시 그린클럽이란 팀이 멋지다는 생각이 들었다. 힙플 : 비프리의 경우엔 스웨이디와의 만남을 기점으로 바이브가 180도 바뀐 감이 있다. 어떤 기점이 있었나? B-Free: 석현이는 아주 유쾌하고 신선한 아이디어를 많이 가지고 있는 정말 특별한 아이다. 같이 어울리다 보니 뭔가 가볍게 재미있게 노래를 만들고 싶어졌다. 자연스럽게 녹음실에서 놀며 그린클럽을 만들자는 아이디어가 나왔다. Sway D: 내가 영향을 주었다기보단 오히려 내가 형한테 더 영향받았던 것 같다. 프리형의 음악은 언제나 배울 점이 많고, 형의 솔직하고 돌직구 같은 음악들이 잡생각 많은 내 머릿속을 정리하는데 많은 도움을 준 것 같다. 만약 내가 준 영향이 있다면... 이거 뭔가 오그라든다. 그냥 형하고 함께 뭔가를 만들 때마다 항상 특별하고 멋진 기운이 가득한 것 같다. 힙플 : 스웨이디는 랩퍼로서, 비프리는 프로듀서로서 본격적으로 출사표를 던진 앨범이다. 각자의 메인 바운더리가 있는 상황에서 작업은 어떤 식으로 진행됐는지 궁금하다. B-Free: 2015년 초에 석현이가 부산에서 서울로 자주 올라왔는데 올라올 때마다 같이 비트도 만들고 작업을 하며 몇 곡이 나왔고 팀을 결성하여 앨범을 만들자는 이야기가 나온 이후로는 각자 가지고 있는 비트들을 모아 보자고 했다. 내가 만든 비트들은 내가 녹음해서 석현이에게 보내고 석현이가 만든 곡들은 석현이가 진행해서 보내주며 2015 여름에 마무리가 되었다 Sway D: 서울에 올라갈 때마다 형과 만나서 서로의 비트 들려주고 맘에 들면 가사를 쓰고 작업을 이어가며 앨범을 만들었던 것 같다. 특별한 고민 없이 재미있게 완성한 앨범이 \'Green Club\'이다. 힙플 : 꾸준히 샤라웃하던 퓨쳐리스틱스웨버(랩탑보이)가 유일하게 비트를 제공했다. 그린클럽의 멤버라고 봐도 무방한 건가? B-Free: 아니다. 퓨처리스틱스웨버의 행보가 마음에 들었고 그냥 그와 작업하고 싶었다. Sway D: 일단 이 팀에 대해서 심도 있게 프리형과 이야기 해보진 않았다. ‘Green Club’ 은 멤버를 늘린다거나 뭔가 목적이 있다던가 그런걸 신경 쓰는 팀은 아닌 것 같다. 확실한 건 뭔가 멋진 느낌이 든다. 힙플 : 마지막 트랙에 참여한 Ethereal에 대한 소개도 필요할 것 같다. B-Free: Ethereal 는 미국 Atlanta 에서 시작된 Awful Records 의 아티스트이다. Awful Records에는 많은 멤버들이 있는데 그중에는 Father, KCSB, Slug Christ, Playboi Carti 같이 멋있는 아티스트들이 있다. 석현이와 어느 날 요즘 좋아하는 아티스트들에 대해 이야기 하다가 Ethereal 에 대한 이야기가 나왔는데 석현이가 같이 작업해보면 좋겠다는 말을 했고 그래서 내가 직접 연락을 했다. Ethereal 는 우리와 비슷하게 비트도 만들고 랩도 하며 뮤직비디오도 감독한다. 다리를 못써서 휠체어를 쓰는데도 불구하고 개의치 않고 활동을 하는게 너무 멋있고 그의 목소리나 음악의 바이브가 특이하다. Sway D: 내가 엄청 꽂혀있었다. 하이라이트 사무실에서 프리형한테 Ethereal 뮤직비디오를 보여줬었는데 형 역시 멋지다며 Ethereal과 작업하자고 말했다. 이후 프리형이 직접 이메일로 연락을 하여 함께 작업하게 되었다. 힙플 : 최근, Currency Exchange Show에서 촬영한 하이라이트의 공연 다큐멘터리 영상을 인상 깊게 봤다. 해외 진출에 대한 가능성을 충분히 보았을 것 같은데 어떤가? B-Free: 해외 진출에 대해서는 별생각 없다. 대중 기획사들처럼 해외 진출을 위해 특별한 작전을 짜거나 음악을 갑자기 바꾸지는 않는다. 그냥 꾸준히 멋있는 음악을 하다 보면 또 다른 기회가 생길 수 있다고 생각한다. 해외를 나가보면서 세상은 정말 넓고 우리나라는 정말 작다는 생각이 많이 든다. 그래서 개인적으로 앞으로는 해외를 많이 다닐 것이다. 그것이 여행이 될 수도 있고 공연과 같은 일이 될 수도 있겠지만 어쨌든 많은 곳에 가보고 싶다. 다른 사람들도 해외 여행을 꼭 경험해봤으면 좋겠다. Sway D: Worldwide ! 내 꿈이다. 힙플 : 키스에이프는 ‘It G Ma’로 노선이 완전히 바뀌었다. 키스에이프의 행보가 미친 영향들이 분명 있을 것 같은데. B-Free: 당연하다. 동헌이가 그렇게 된 이후로 정말 많은 게 바뀌었는데 동헌이 덕분에 전 세계가 한국 힙합에 대한 관심이 확실히 더 커진 것 같다. 잠시나마 동헌이의 활동하는 모습을 옆에서 보며 정말 많은 것을 느꼈고 배웠다. 그를 보면서 모든 면에서 너무 많은 자극을 받았고 항상 신선하고 멋있는 음악을 해야겠다는 생각을 많이 하게 되었다. Sway D: 그냥 자랑스럽다! 동헌이가 나에게 ‘잊지마’를 어떻게 들었냐고 물어봤었다. 사람들의 여론이 안 좋은 것 같다고 걱정도 했던 걸로 기억난다. 근데 나는 대박이라고 신경 쓸 필요 없다고 했다. 물론 진짜 이렇게 대박 날줄은 모르고 한 말이었다. 지금은 너도나도 좋아하는 세계적인 아티스트가 되었고 항상 멋진 행보를 기대하고 있다. 힙플: 비프리는 휴가 차, 미국으로 가는 것으로 알고 있다. 이번 앨범의 계획, 그리고 마지막으로 하고 싶은 이야기 부탁한다. B-Free: Green Club을 결성하고 앨범을 준비하기 전 개인 앨범을 작업하고 있었는데 마치 창작의 샘이 마른 것처럼 음악적으로 항상 벽에 부딪히는 것만 같았다. 그러다 석현이가 많은 영향을 주었고 덕분에 그린클럽 같이 가볍고 유쾌한 앨범을 만들 수 있었다. 그린클럽 덕분에 새로운 에너지를 얻었고 프로듀서로 서로 레벨업을 한 기분이다. 그린클럽 이후로 정말 많은 비트를 만들었고 내 실력이 향상되고 있다는 것을 체감하고 있다. 개인 앨범에 들어갈 비트들과 아이디어도 많이 나온 상태인데 이번 앨범은 개인적으로 너무 기대가 된다. 이번 앨범은 정말 큰 욕심이 생기고 많은 것을 시도해보고 싶다. 항상 머리 속으로 상상만 하던 것들을 노력만 하면 현실로 이룰 수 있을 것 같다는 생각에 요즘은 늘 들떠있다. 미국으로 휴가를 가는 것도 쉬는 목적도 있지만 일 때문에 가는 것도 크다. 아직 너무 많은 이야기를 하기엔 이른 것 같지만, 다음 앨범은 내 최고의 작품으로 만들 것이며 기대해도 좋다. |
