3. 커리어

세인트루이스에서 태어났고 시카고에서 성장했다. 1941년 골든글러브 우승자이며 군복무후 1945년 프로에 데뷔했다.

여러 강자들과 맞붙었으나 약한 맷집으로 패배도 꽤 많이 했고 결국 1957년을 마지막으로 현역에서 은퇴했다.

은퇴후 1977년 암으로 사망했다.

4. 파이팅 스타일

강력한 한방 파워를 갖고 있고 저돌적인 성향이였다. 하지만 턱이 약해 KO패로 패배한 경기가 많았다.

5. 여담

태평양전쟁시기 1942~45년엔 군 복무를 했었다.

로버트 새터필드 주니어라는 아들이 있었다.
