2023년 3월 17일에 발매된 멜라니 마르티네즈의 정규 3집 앨범 PORTALS의 리드싱글.

2. 배경

After School 이후 2년간 음악 활동을 쉰 뒤, 멜라니는 모든 인스타그램 게시물을 보관했다. 이후 2023년 2월 18일에 정규 3집을 공개했다. 또한 스포티파이에서 커버가 없는 12초짜리 스니펫을 공개했다.
2023년 3월 인스타그램에 비밀스러운 메시지와 엎드린 핑크 요정 캐릭터, 노래 가사, 3집 발매일, 3집 리드 싱글 (DEATH)의 제목을 함께 올렸다. 이후 DEATH는 2023년 3월 17일에 발매되었다.
