1. 개요

Dustborn은 노르웨이의 게임 개발사 Red Thread Games에서 2024년 8월 20일 출시한 스토리 중심의 싱글 플레이어 액션 어드벤처 게임이다.

대체 역사적 배경의 분열된 미국을 배경으로 하며, 플레이어는 '아노멀'이라 불리는 초능력을 가진 주인공 팍스가 되어 밴드 멤버들과 함께 서부로 향하는 여정을 떠난다.

한국에서는 잘 알려지지 않은 게임이지만 해외 쪽에서는 발매 전부터 개발진들이 워낙 사회적, 정치적인 이슈를 가지고 어그로를 끌다 보니 악명이 알려지게 되었고, 빈약한 게임성, 과도한 정치적 올바름 요소, 못생기다 못해 그로테스크한 캐릭터 디자인, 결정적으로 음악이 주제인데 음악이 구리다는 치명적인 단점 등으로 인해 엄청난 악평을 받았다. 공인된 게임 시상식은 아니지만, 4chan의 Vidya Gaem Awards에서 '최악의 게임플레이', '최악의 비주얼 미학', '올해 가장 증오받은 게임' 등 다수의 불명예스러운 상을 수상하며 2024년 최악의 게임 중 하나로 자리 잡았다.

흥행도 마찬가지로 망해서, 싱글플레이어 게임 이라는걸 감안하더라도 최대 동시접속자가 83명으로 100명을 넘기지도 못하고 흥행도 제대로 망한것을 보여줬다
