밝은 분위기의 멜로디 위로 차별을 그만두자는 내용의 가사를 담은 곡이며 1969년 미국에서 공전의 히트를 거두었다.피아노, 베이스 기타와 드럼이 연주되며 곡이 시작되고, 얼마 뒤 혼 섹션이 짧게 들어오자마자 리드 싱어 슬라이 스톤의 부드러운 보컬이 시작된다.
"I am everyday people, yeah, yeah" 가사에서 슬라이가 소울풀한 보컬로 강조를 하며, 그 뒤의 "There is a blue one"부터 "And scooby dooby dooby"까지 그룹 멤버 로즈 스톤이 밝은 보컬을 통해 가사를 전달한다. 이 부분부터 분위기 전환용으로 쓰였던 혼 섹션이 곡에 적극적으로 추가된다.
