Alien Lanes 앨범에 데모 버전으로 수록되었으며, Tigerbomb 앨범에서 정식으로 녹음된 버전이 수록되었다.
1분 30초 남짓의 짧은 곡이며, 완전한 Lo-Fi로 녹음되었지만 좋은 평가를 받는 가이디드 바이 보이시즈 대표곡이다. 여타 곡들처럼 밴드의 구심점인 로버트 폴라드가 작곡·작사하였다. 미국의 밴드 Jimmy Eat World가 커버하기도 하였다.

3. 평가
전성기의 로버트 폴라드는 완벽한 곡을 작곡하지 않고서는 기타 피크를 잡지 않았다. 그러나 Game of Pricks에서 그는 그저 멜로디를 흥얼거렸을 뿐이다. 모든 것이 1분 30초 남짓으로 끝나기에 헛소리를 할 자리는 없다. 지울 수 없고 뇌가 타는듯한 멜로디가 완전한 Lo-Fi 프로덕션으로 무한하게 반복될 뿐이다. 로버트 폴라드는 그가 되어야 했지만 되지 못한, 스타디움에서 공연하는 슈퍼스타가 된 것처럼 노래한다. "You can never be strong / You can only be free"는 Game of Pricks에서 가장 인상적인 가사다. 첫 번째 구절은 로버트 폴라드의 작곡 능력이 퇴화하였음을 나타낼 수 있지만, 다음 구절도 그에게 잘 어울린다. 결과가 어떻든 간에 당신이 사랑하는 일을 하고, 당신이 하는 일을 사랑해라.[2]

[1] Game of Pricks는 '찌르기 게임' 정도로 직역할 수 있다. 이어지는 가사로 보아 서로를 배신하고(등에 칼을 꽂고) 상처입히는 것을 의미한다고 볼 수 있다.[2] At his prime, it seemed like Guided by Voices mastermind Robert Pollard couldn't touch a guitar pick without writing a new classic, and "Game of Pricks" flows forth as such, as if all he did was open his mouth for the melody to come out. The whole thing's just over a minute and a half long, which means there's no room for bullshit-- just that indelible, brain-burned melody fed through shit-fi production and looped to infinity, as Pollard sings out like the stadium-playing superstar vet he should've been but never was. "You can never be strong/ You can only be free" goes one of "Game of Pricks"' most memorable couplets; the first line may have come to represent Pollard's unfortunate but eventual decline in songwriting quality, but that last line fits him well too: no matter what the result may be, do what you love, and love what you do.
