1. 개요
폴 매카트니가 2012년 2월 6일(영국), 2월 7일(미국)에 발매한 15번째 정규 앨범.2010년 3월에는 미국 로스앤젤레스의 캐피틀 스튜디오에서 녹음했으며, 2011년에는 뉴욕과 런던에서 녹음을 진행하였다. 앨범의 대부분의 곡은 오래 전의 재즈 및 스탠다드 팝 곡이다. 그래서 그런지 앨범 수록곡 전부가 차분한 분위기다. 노년기로 접어든 폴 매카트니의 목소리가 상당히 부드럽게 들린다. 자작곡은 타이틀 곡 "My Valentine"과 "Only Our Hearts" 두 곡 밖에 없다. 소수의 자작곡 + 다수의 커버곡 구성이라는 점에서 1999년 발매된 Run Devil Run과 유사한 측면이 있다.
빌보드 재즈 앨범 차트에서는 1위까지 올랐으며, 빌보드 200에서는 5위까지 올랐다. 영국 차트에서는 3위. 음악 시장의 주류인 신세대에게는 그리 큰 인기가 없는 올드 재즈/팝 앨범 치고 이 정도면 꽤 준수한 성적이다.
제목 논란이 있었는데, 제목을 그대로 직역하면 민망한 뜻이 나올 수 있기 때문. 사실 'Kisses on the Bottom of Letter'의 뜻이고, "I'm Gonna Sit Right Down and Write Myself a Letter"의 가사 일부다.
2012년 11월 26일에는 iTunes 플랫폼으로 총 17곡의 보너스 트랙을 수록한 "Kisses On The Bottom - Complete Kisses"라는 스페셜 에디션이 발매되었다. 실물 앨범 판매는 하지 않으며 오직 스트리밍 및 다운로드 서비스로만 제공된다.
여담으로 이 앨범의 마스터링에 한국인이 참여했는데, 그 주인공은 남상욱.[1]
