1985년 2월 22일에 발매된 휘트니 휴스턴의 싱글로, 데뷔 앨범 《Whitney Houston》의 두번째 싱글로 발매되었다.2. 성적
발매 후 유럽에서는 인기를 끌지 못했다. 반면 북미 지역에서는 빌보드 R&B 차트에서 1985년 5월 넷째 주에 1주간 1위를 기록하고, 빌보드 핫 100에서 최고 3위, 캐나다 RPM에서 9위를 기록하면서, 그때까지 발매되었던 휘트니의 싱글 중 가장 인기를 끌었다. 이로써 "You Give Good Love"은 휘트니의 첫 빌보드 Top10 진입곡이 되었으며 휘트니의 이름을 팝계에 처음으로 알린 곡이 되었다. 한편 이 곡의 성공 덕분에 데뷔 앨범 《Whitney Houston》의 판매량도 상승하고 잇따라 발매된 싱글 역시 성공하면서, 휘트니는 성공적으로 팝계에 데뷔할 수 있었다.자니 카슨의 투나잇 쇼에 출연하는 등 방송 출연을 시작하고 언론과 인터뷰에 나선 것도 이 시점 부근이었다. 이후 휘트니는 "Saving All My Love for You"부터 본격적인 성공 가도에 올라타면서 언론의 집중적인 관심을 받기 시작한다. 또한 이 곡의 성공에 힘입어, 휘트니는 데뷔 앨범을 홍보하기 위해 85년 6월부터 극장을 중심으로 US Summer Tour를 시작한다.
