애프터눈이 다른 메이저한 만화잡지들에 비해 다소 무거운 소재를 다루는 잡지임을 고려하면 스토리에 대한 큰 각색은 없을 것이라는 예측이 많았다.[1]

워낙 긴 연기로 유명했던 게임이니만큼 농담 반 진담 반으로 코믹스 또한 무기한 연기되는 것 아니냐는 우려가 있었지만, 3월 2일 녹화 중계된 오모리 3주년 기념 오케스트라가 끝난 직후 티저가 공개되며 2024년 봄에 연재가 개시된다 알려졌고, 이후 2024년 6월 25일 연재 개시가 확정되었다. 2024년도 캐릭터들의 생일 축전을 코믹스 작가가 맡는 등 공식에서도 적극적인 홍보를 하고 있다.

2024년 6월 25일 무료분 1화가 올라왔으며 1달(매월 25일)마다 연재가 되고 있다. 미국에서는 K Manga라는 어플리케이션을 이용해서 볼 수 있고, 일본에서는 잡지에 같이 수록된 것을 보거나 공식 연재 사이트인 코믹 DAYS에서 볼 수 있다. 일본어판은 잡지를 직구하거나 사이트에 접속하여 볼 수 있지만, K Manga가 미국 외 국가에서는 지원되지 않는 관계로 국내에서 VPN 없이 정식으로 영어판 만화를 보는 법은 없었다.[2]

그러나 2025년 6월 24일부로 K Manga의 정식 서비스 지역이 대한민국을 포함한 28개국으로 확대되면서, 국내에서도 VPN 없이 영어판 만화를 볼 수 있게 되었다.

현재 오모리 갤러리에서 한국어로 번역한 번역본이 올라오고 있다.모음집 링크

배경에 대한 설명을 빠르고 쉽게 하기 위함인지, 3일 전 현실에서의 내용이 먼저 전개되고 꿈세계에 진입하는 방식으로 각색되었다. 이 과정에서 오브리 패거리들에 대한 묘사는 생략되었고, 대신 써니가 오브리를 공격하는 장면이 게임보다 임팩트 있게 다뤄졌다. 이에 대해선 호불호가 갈리지만, 장편 만화의 초입이니만큼 이런 각색이 만화 전체에 걸쳐 어떻게 영향을 미칠지는 좀 더 지켜봐야 할 듯하다.

사실 OMORI가 원래 웹코믹에서 시작했으니, 어떻게 보면 원래대로 돌아온 셈이다.
