2026년 3월 6일에 발매 예정인 영국의 자선단체 War Child를 위해 기획된 자선 앨범. 전쟁으로 고통받는 아이들을 돕기 위해 제작되었으며, 수익금 전액이 전쟁 피해 아동 지원에 사용된다.

2. 배경

1995년 보스니아 전쟁 당시 피해 아동들을 지원하기 위해 제작된 자선 앨범 The Help Album을 계승하는 후속작 같은 프로젝트. 1995년 발매된 The Help Album은 오아시스, 블러, 라디오헤드, 매시브 어택, 포티스헤드, 스웨이드, 매닉 스트리트 프리처스, 시네이드 오코너, 폴 매카트니, 폴 웰러 등 당시 브릿팝, 얼터너티브 록, 트립합 전성기를 대표하는 아티스트들이 대거 참여한 쟁쟁한 라인업이 특징이다. 이 앨범은 단순한 자선 앨범을 넘어 1990넌대 영국 록 전성기의 결정판 같은 기록이자 We Are the World처럼 음악 산업이 집단적으로 사회 문제에 반응한 대표적인 사례로 자주 언급된다.

이번 앨범은 오리지널 The Help Album의 정신을 계승해 애비 로드 스튜디오와의 긴밀한 협업을 통해 제작되었으며 2025년 11월 특별한 한 주 동안 집중적으로 녹음되었다고 한다. 앨범의 수익금 전액은 전 세계 분쟁 지역 아동들을 보호하는 영국의 자선 단체 War Child UK를 지원하는데 사용된다.

영국을 대표하는 톱 클래스 프로듀서 제임스 포드가 총괄 프로듀서로 참여했으며, 한때 록 음악을 대표했던 거물급 아티스트들과 현재 영국 및 글로벌 인디 씬을 이끄는 주요 아티스트들이 대거 참여한 라인업을 구성했다. 여기에 현재 팝 록 씬을 이끌고 있는 팝스타 올리비아 로드리고까지 합류하며 매우 다채롭고 화려한 라인업이 완성되었다. 수익금은 현재 진행 중인 팔레스타인, 우크라이나, 수단, 예멘 등 분쟁으로 피해를 입은 아동들을 지원하는데 사용될 것으로 보인다.

영화 존 오브 인터레스트의 감독 조나단 글레이저가 크리에이티브 디렉터로 참여했으며, 수단, 가자지구, 우크라이나, 예멘 출신 아이들이 직접 캠코더를 들고 촬영에 참여했다.

1월 23일, 앨범의 첫 번째 트랙이자 첫 싱글인 악틱 몽키즈의 "Opening Night"가 공개되었다.

3월 1일 아시아 지역에서 리스닝 파티가 열렸으며, 한국에서는 채널1969에서 진행되었다. 영국과 멕시코, 호주에서는 3월 5일에 개최된다.

3월 2일 오아시스가 앨범에 참여한다는 소식이 공개되었으며, Oasis Live '25 Tour 중 웸블리 스타디움에서 녹음된 Acquiesce가 바이닐 에디션에는 7인치 싱글로, CD 에디션에는 보너스 트랙으로 수록될 예정임이 밝혀졌다. 이로써 브릿팝의 거물 오아시스, 블러, 펄프가 모두 해당 프로젝트에 참여하게 되었다.
