1. 개요

강릉은 지리적으로 명산과 바다를 모두 끼고 있기 때문에 유명한 관광지가 많다. 크게 주문진 일대, 경포호 일대, 정동진 일대로 나뉜다. 그래서 관광지가 많다보니 사계절 내내 여행객들로 넘쳐난다. 다양한 곳을 놓고 가기에는 장점이 많으나 굳이 바다나 산만 노리기에는 좋지 않다.

박이추(보헤미안), 김용덕(테라로사) 등 유명 바리스타들이 자리잡으면서 커피 관광지로도 유명해졌다.

경포대 - 보물 제2046호로, 관동팔경 중 하나이다. 경포해변에 정자가 있는 걸로 착각하는 경우가 상당히 많은데 경포대는 경포호반에 있는 누대로, 경포해변에서는 꽤 멀리 떨어져 있다.
경포호 - 도립공원이여서 아파트 포함 모텔과 호텔은 5층, 상가는2~3층으로 건축제한을 걸어놓았었으나, 최근 올림픽 버프 때문인지 건축제한이 풀려 십층 단위로 건물이 들어서는중이다.

안반데기 - 해발 1,100m 고지대에 위치한 마을. 안반데기의 어원은 떡메로 쌀을 칠 때 쓰는 통나무 받침대인 '안반'과 고원의 평평한 땅을 뜻하는 '덕'이 합쳐진 안반덕이라는 강릉 사투리가 굳어진 것이다. 1965년부터 화전민들이 일군 산밭으로 이제는 국내 최대 규모의 고랭지 채소 재배단지가 되었다.
