4트랙 6악장의 대규모 발레 모음곡 형식으로 제작된 앨범으로, 오케스트라의 비중이 매우 크다. 찰스 밍거스는 이 앨범의 오케스트라를 민족적인 포크 음악으로 규정하였으며, 재즈 뿐만이 아닌 아프리카 음악과 플라멩코 등 스페인 테마의 요소를 통합하여 비평적으로 매우 높은 평가를 받았으며, Mingus Ah Um과 함께 찰스 밍거스 최고의 걸작 앨범 중 하나이자 재즈 역사상 위대한 작품 중 하나로 손꼽힌다. 특이하게도 이 앨범에는 찰스 밍거스의 심리치료사가 쓴 라이너 노트가 수록되어 있다.올뮤직에서는 이 앨범을 "재즈 오케스트레이션에 있어서 가장 위대한 업적 중 하나"라 평가하면서 별 다섯 개 만점에 다섯 개를 주었으며, 피치포크 선정 1960년대 최고의 앨범 17위에 선정되었다.[1] 또한 Rate Your Music에서 매우 높은 평가를 받는 앨범으로, 전체 앨범 차트에서 14위를 차지하여 A Love Supreme, Kind of Blue 등의 쟁쟁한 명반들을 누르고 재즈 앨범으로서는 최고로 높은 순위에 올랐다.
